Our History

Kemp Funeral Home & Cremation Services was established August 9, 2017 in this completely remodeled facility in Southfield, Michigan--"the center of it all"Stephen R. Kemp built the business at his former employer from 50 calls per year to more than 250 calls per year.  Running out of room in an aging building, Mr. Kemp looked for an opportunity to expand and better serve his clientele.

The result was the purchase of a former auto insurance claim center redesigned to become one of the most fabulous funeral homes in southeastern  Michigan.  Kemp Funeral Home has 17,000 square feet, which includes two arrangement offices, an expansive merchandise room and a funeral chapel that can seat nearly 300 people.  Whether funerals are large or intimate, our chapel can accommodate the family's wishes with movable walls which divide the chapel into seating for 100 or 50.   Please come visit us during activities we sponsor or just to say hello.
