Victoria Baker-Banks

Victoria Baker-Banks made her transition on Friday March 27, 2020. Please encourage the family with an everlasting note of condolence on our Tribute Page. Victoria “Vicky” Baker-Banks was born on November 11, 1967, in Greenwood, Mississippi to Elmos and Rosie Baker. Her mother and brother Alvin (Buddy) preceded her in death. Vicky met and married her college sweetheart, Pernell Banks on September 14, 1996, and this union lasted for 23 years, but they were together as a couple for a total of 30 years. To this union, three children were born; Logan who was their miracle baby, and Seth and Joshua who preceded her in death, along with her beloved husband. Vicky was educated through the Detroit Public School system where she graduated from Kettering High School in 1986. She went on to pursue her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in Public Relations & Business Administration from Marygrove College. She later returned to Marygrove where she graduated with a Master of Arts degree with a focus on Educational Administration. Vicky was last employed for Ser Metro as a Career Coach. She dedicated her life to Christ at a young age while attending Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Vicky, knew that she was kind hearted, thoughtful, creative, resourceful, loyal, and had a great and unique sense of humor. She loved going on adventures and traveling. She also had a love of old homes and historical sites. Vicky leaves to mourn her beloved Logan, her siblings, Brenda (Cheikh) Mbacke, Mary (Robert) Hill, Elmer (Ola) Baker, Letoria (Larry) Watson, and Antonio (Renee), our sister cousin, Merthia Hollins, her special friends, Dwayne & Joe, eight nieces & nephews, Antoine, Leandra, Brittany, Nathaniel, Rosey, Michael, Nakia, and Leanna, four blended nieces & nephews, Malcolm X., Latrice, Rashonda and Devin, ﬁve great nieces & nephews, Caleb, Riley, Mackenzie, Nathan and Mila, and a host of loving family and friends. My mom, she was the best anyone could ask for. I will miss her, but I know I will see her in the future, just like my dad, my grandma, and my granddad! Your Loving Son, Logan
