Jerel Tremain Woods

Jerel Tremain Woods, affectionally known to many as “J Real”, was born to the union of Jeffery and Sherry Woods on February 17, 1984. He was educated in the Detroit Public School and Southfield Lathrup School systems and had many gifts and talents including playing six instruments in the Southfield Lathrup High School Band. Jerel continued his education by attending college at Alabama A & M, Baker College, and Wayne County Community College and specialized in Graphic Design and Marketing. Jerel was extremely creative and had many hobbies which included graphic design, computer technology, and freelance art. Jerel was known as “Mr. Fix It” and could diagnosis and repair anything technical. Jerel got his start as an entrepreneur when he owned and operated a Graphic Design shop in Northland Mall with his Grandmother Mary Elmore Woods and was hired by several stores in the mall to do their creative design work. Jerel continued his education and obtained many professional and commercial licenses. When Jerel moved to California with his family, he obtained his Real Estate License and worked for Century 21 Real Estate Agency where he enjoyed helping people find their dream homes. Following this venture, Jerel acquired his Commercial Driver’s License and started his own company called TWG Logistics LLC where he drove semi-trucks and 18 wheelers across the country. Jerel married Marsyia Elise Brantley on July 11, 2015 and raised two beautiful daughters, Jernie and Lyndzie, that were the joy of his life. Jerel cherished the time he spent with his family and creating special memories with them. After the birth of their youngest daughter, they moved to La Mesa, CA and later to Pearland, TX. Jerel wanted to show his family the world and loved traveling and exploring the outdoors with them. Jerel loved teaching his daughters’ new things, like riding bikes, his signature dance moves, and important lessons that would make them successful in life. Jerel and Marsyia had plans to return to Texas to continue raising their daughters in a place they all enjoyed calling home. Earlier this year, Jerel landed his dream job working for Motor City Harley Davidson as a Diagnostic Mechanical Technician where he formed Woods Cycles Service Accessories and Auto doing the work that he loved, being surrounded by Harley Davidson motorcycles every second of the day. Jerel especially enjoyed riding with friends, and he traveled to 47 states. Jerel was recently featured in the Thunder Rolls magazine for being an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Jerel leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Marsyia; daughters Jernie and Lyndzie; parents Jeffery and Sherry Woods; siblings Jason, Jeffery, Jr., Jasmine, and Andrea; grandmothers Mary Elmore Woods of Lathrup Village, MI and Emma Whitley of La Mesa, CA; uncle Terence (LaChrystal) Woods of Navarre, FL; aunts Candice Villafana (the late Vaughn) of Germantown, MD; Kim Whitley of San Diego, CA, Patti Dixon of Baton Rouge, LA, Mary (Donald) Morris of Lake Wales, FL, and Lisa Tucker of Dallas, TX; five godchildren Sincear, Alexcia, Marti’Nez, Danielle, and Jenesis; and a host of special friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved dearly.
