William "Bo" Vaughn

March 21, 1941 - February 6, 2022

William "Bo" Vaughn Educator, Mentor, Father, Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, INC. William Albert "Bo" Vaughn departed this life on Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was born March 21, 1941, in Nashville, TN to Sylvester Vaughn and Virginia Carol (Nells) Vaughn. He was proceeded in death by his parents and beloved wife of fifty years, Faye Delores (Lee) Vaughn. "Bo" as he was affectionately known attended Nashville Public Schools and was a 1959 graduate of the historic Pearl High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Tennessee State University in 1963, where he was a member of the "Tigersharks" Swim Team. He received a master's degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1972. A lifelong educator and coach, Bo enjoyed over 45 years of employment with Chicago Public Schools, the Detroit Board of Education, The City of Detroit Summer Youth Program, as well as, the Michigan Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, serving over the years as teacher, and, award winning Football, Swimming, Tennis, and, Basketball Coaches, eventually becoming Athletic Director and Dean of Students. He will be remembered for working at Fitzgerald Elementary, and Mumford, Redford, and Loyola High Schools. A member of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, and, Life Church Southfield, he leaves to mourn his passing, daughters Keisha Vaughn of West Bloomfield, Kimberle Vaughn-Andrews (Donald) and grandson Brandon Vaughn Andrews of League City, TX, a sister, Bettye Vaughn of Nashville, TN and a host of other family members and dear friends.
