John Matthew Sincic
July 21, 1933 - January 23, 2022
Hi everyone, It is with deep sadness and also with great joy that we tell you that our brother, John, passed away this morning, January 23, 2022 at 5:50 am. He died while in the care of a hospice team. The sadness: John was a presence that will be missed by all who knew him. The world was a better place because of John and will have lost something because he is no longer with us. The joy: John was not afraid of death, in fact, he embraced the concept for most of his 88 years. He did not do this in a sobering fashion...he did it in a joyful way. John continually wished for us the great life that he was living and rarely did he let anything change that course. John's health deteriorated over the last couple months but, astoundedly, his memory and ability to carry on conversations or tell interesting stories only waned in the last couple of days. And when he told these stories, it was in an unwavering voice and with barely a loss of breath. Just a couple of days ago, John was telling me about the 1945 World Champion Tigers, naming manager, players and positions. Of course, he could also tell you the name of your spouse and your children and their children if necessary. Names of his classmates from University of Detroit High School, Class of 1951, who they married, and what many of them did for a living. You get the idea. John was 11 when I was born. I barely knew him as a "big brother", but I doubt that anyone could have had a better big brother than Joanne, Mary Ann, Tony, Tom, and Steve had. Thank you, John, for what you were to so many people. John M. Sincic made his transition on January 23, 2022. Please encourage the Sincic family with words of love and encouragement on our Tribute page. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of John Sincic please visit our Sympathy Store.
