Willie "Snake" Gordon, Jr. led a life filled with dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to bettering himself and those around him. Born in Lexington, Mississippi, on May 5th, 1949, to Willie Gordon, Sr. and Emma Louise Gordon (née Thompson), his journey took him through various places before settling in Durant, Mississippi, where he would eventually meet his beloved wife, Leomia Joyce Smith. Driven by the opportunities of the Second Great Migration, Willie ventured to Detroit, Michigan, his new wife joining him shortly afterward. He found employment at Chrysler Corporation, where he dedicated over three decades of his life to the automotive industry. Willie's thirst for knowledge and self-improvement knew no bounds. He had also pursued certification in Electronic Technology from the Electronics Institute of Technology, allowing him to expand his career into electronics and repair, His passion for technology continued to evolve, eventually leading him to realize his dream of entrepreneurship as an electrician and home improvement specialist. Beyond his professional pursuits, Willie was cherished for his infectious smile and warm, approachable demeanor. He effortlessly forged friendships with individuals from all walks of life, earning a reputation for his unmatched generosity. Ever willing to lend a helping hand, Willie freely shared his expertise and time with those in need, embodying the spirit of community and compassion. Constantly in motion, whether tackling projects or engaging in physical activity, Willie embraced life with boundless energy and enthusiasm. His legacy lives on through his loving wife, Joyce; their son Jermaine Ronell Gordon-Mizusawa (Koko Mizusawa), daughter Tarnisha Michelle Gordon, grandson Miyabi Gordon Mizusawa, as well as his loving sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends and neighbors all of whom were deeply touched by his kindness and unwavering spirit.
