Harold Pamela Hamilton

Harold Pamela Hamilton, daughter of the late Alphretta Stamps and Annie Maude (Hollingshead). Stamps was born January 3, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. She attended Royal Oak Township and Detroit public schools. She graduated from Mackenzie High School and Coopers Tailoring School. She married Travis Hamilton June 24, 1967, and shared 47 wonderful years together before Travis’ death September 2, 2014. To this union was born two children, Hope Ann and Travis Jr. Pam was a skilled tailor, which was a true passion. She loved to sew clothes for children and tailor clothing for family and friends. She also loved bargain shopping for shoes, clothing, and fabric. She worked as a tailor across many metro Detroit clothing stores including Marshall Fields, Serman’s, Billy’s clothes, and John the Tailor. After retirement she continued to tailor clothes for family and friends. Pam’s other pastime was the Michigan lottery. She and her sister-in-law Gloria would often reminisce about the fun they had and trade stories about the numbers they missed. She was a loving and caring woman who would go out of her way to do anything to help people in her community. She also had a very special love for her grand and great grand children. Pam transitioned on July 3, 2022 at 5:15pm at Provence Hospital. Pamela’s parent, Alpharetta and Annie Maude, brothers Charles and Frederick Stamps, Howard Walkers, and Sister Cecelia Becton proceeded her in death. She leaves to cherish memories her daughter Hope Burden and her “favorite-son-in-law” Leonard; son, Travis Hamilton; Grand daughter Tania Hamilton; and great grandson Wesley Hamilton; sister-in-law Gloria Stamps; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
