Florine Epps

HEAVEN SENT: August 2,1938 HEAVEN BOUND: March 14, 2025 Florine was born to the union of Walter Ivory and Annie Mae Danner in Mississippi. She was the third child of ten children. Her parents and six of her siblings preceded her in death. Florine was a faithful, praying, praising Christian whose life was filled with the joy of living. Florine loved cooking and inviting family and friends into her home. She loved taking a road trip to visit family and going on vacation. She looked forward to the Danner Family Reunions. She did not know the faces of all her younger nieces, nephews, and their outspring, but she wanted to know their names and activities. During my visits, she asked about each one by name, she wanted to know what and how they were doing. All the family news, all the time, made her smile. Most importantly, she became our family’s prayer warrior. She might be sitting or lying still, but faithfully she prayed daily to keep her family covered. Florine and her late husband, Claude Epps, loved their son, Jahan Epps. She called Jahan, ‘’My number one favorite son.’’, which always made him smile. Before Jahan, Florine and Uncle Claude fostered many babies and toddlers. She retired from her civil servant position to enjoy motherhood. Florine was also a Licensed Cosmetologist.. Several health issues sidelined her ability to engage in many of the activities that she loved. Florine dedicated these slow times to praising the Lord. Florine stayed faithful to her belief in God and her resilience when faced with challenges was inspirational. On Friday, March 14, 2025, Florine made her transition to join Christ. Florine leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jahan Epps her three sisters, Earlie Currie of Enfield, Connecticut; Dorothy Proctor of Novi, MI; Margie Williams of Detroit, MI, 3 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
