Carl R. Gayden Sr.

Mr. Carl Gayden, Jr. was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Johnny and Florida Gayden; the second of three children. Both of his loving parents preceded him in death. Carl accepted Christ at an early age. He was educated in and graduated from Detroit Public Schools. Carl began his professional career at Media One, now known as Comcast. During his twenty-seven years there, he worked his way up from Line Technician to Operations Supervisor. Carl was also a proud member of his Masonic Lodge Wayne Craft 37 where he served as Worshipful Master. Carl married Janielle and recently celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Carl was blessed with an exceptional life partner who stood faithfully by his side through all things. Three beautiful children were born to this union: Destiny, Mikayla and Carl Jr. Carl took pride in being a devoted husband and father. He set the standard for those around him on how to love and care for family. No matter what was happening, he made time to show up for his loved ones. He valued making memories, both big and small. Carl was a true lover of good food, movies, travel and dance. He shared these passions with his family. Family was his priority. He was faithfully devoted to his mother throughout her life. He made it a priority to be present, visiting her daily until her passing. Carl had an infectious personality. He loved to laugh, joke, and bring joy and cheer wherever he went. After the sudden loss of his father at the age of nine, Carl matured quickly. He carried the lessons his father taught with him. He understood that time was not promised. Because of this, he made it his mission to live life to its fullest. He didn’t waste time on nonsense; he was too busy creating beautiful memories. Carl loved attending comedy shows and concerts with his lovely wife. He enjoyed bowling, go carting, visiting Top Golf, and trips to Universal Studios with his family. Carl was busy living and loving out loud. On August 11, 2026, Carl peacefully entered into his final rest surrounded by those he loved dearly. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Janielle; children, Destiny, Mikayla and CJ; sisters, Dakima and Phyllis (Jay).
